What GPT Image 2 is good at

  • In-image text rendering accuracy above 95% — readable signage, menus, posters
  • Three reasoning tiers (low / medium / high) — pay only for the quality you need
  • Native 2K output, upscaleable to 4K
  • Strong instruction following — long prompts with multiple constraints work
  • Multi-image consistency when you supply reference images

GPT Image 2 is OpenAI's image model released April 21, 2026. It is the same model that powers ChatGPT image generation, exposed here through the Apimart gateway so you can pick it without an OpenAI subscription.

It is the right pick whenever the image must contain readable text — flyers, social media graphics with captions, app screenshots, in-game UI mocks, comic panels with dialog. Other models hallucinate the text. GPT Image 2 renders it correctly.

CVY.AI exposes the three reasoning tiers as a quality selector. Low is fastest and cheapest (2 credits at 1K), medium is the default (4 credits), high is for hero shots where every detail matters (8 credits at 1K, 32 at 4K). For most posts and product shots, medium is the right choice.

Where GPT Image 2 is weaker than Nano Banana 2 is in raw speed — expect 20-45 seconds per medium-quality 1K image, longer at higher tiers. Where it is the only viable choice is anything that involves typography rendered into the image.

FAQ

What's the difference between low / medium / high?+
They control how much internal reasoning the model applies before rendering. Low is for fast drafts. Medium is the sweet spot for most production work. High is for final hero shots — sharper detail, better composition, slower and more expensive.
Is this the same as DALL·E 3?+
No — GPT Image 2 is the successor to DALL·E 3 and GPT Image 1. Per OpenAI documentation it is a different architecture with much better text rendering and instruction following.
Why is it more expensive than Flux Pro?+
OpenAI's per-token pricing is higher than the Flux Pro endpoint. We pass through the cost ratio: medium-quality 1K GPT Image 2 costs 4 credits, vs 1 credit for the same resolution on Flux Pro.
Can I generate explicit content?+
No — OpenAI enforces content safety at the model layer. For sensitive content, no model on this platform is suitable.
